Safety, Process Safety and Health at Work Strategic Deployment  

Our cultural principle, Life First, guides our HSE behavior because it stablishes our commitment to preserve life in any of its forms, for that reason we look after ourselves and others.

This declaration results in conducts like:

As well as one of the components of the 2040 Strategy “Energy that transforms”, SusTECHnability(*) is a pillar that creates value, mostly leveraging strategic objectives that outline the company's sustainability ambitions through HSE strategic goals and material element roadmaps.

Ecopetrol Health and Safety at work Commitment

Ecopetrol S.A had implemented a HSE Management System, it´s objective is to stablish the required elements to manage risk, protect life and the environment. Mandatory basic requirements of the HSE Management System are based on international Standards ISO 14001: 2015 and ISO 45001:2018. In addition, integral policy has immersed Company’s responsibility according to the principles of Life Commitment and Operational Excellence.

Ecopetrol HSE Vicepresidence led the HSE Management System and focus efforts on oil and gas Exploration and Production process, Refined Production and Petrochemical process, Oil Commercialization and Administrative Support for business.

The HSE Management System applies to company and contractor employees involved at any process. It promotes leadership and commitment to set up objectives, to implement best practices and execute monitoring and improvement in which prioritized opportunities are identified and plans are implemented achieving expected results. Continuous performance improvement of the HSE System it is warrantied through indicators as TRIF (Total Recordable Injury Frequency Rate) in which Ecopetrol S.A is a worldwide reference.

Through the HSE Management System, the processes for consulting and participation of employees at any level and operational area of the company are set up, implemented, and maintained supported by employee representatives. Currently Ecopetrol has the Icontec ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification.
