Behavior of incidents affecting the environment

 

The following graphs shows the results of proactive risk management, which has led to a reduction in incidents affecting the environment and spilled volumes.

According to the information collected from the different assets of the Vice Presidency of Upstream, VPU, since 2022, more than 128 km of line piping have been replaced in VPU as part of the implementation of integrity plans.

 

In the following graph, the index of the number of spills per million tons of Ecopetrol production is referenced, with respect to that registered by IOGP (International Association of oil & gas producers), evidencing that the data recorded by the company are lower than the international average for the Onshore segment.

The IOGP index takes into account incidents with hydrocarbon spills greater than 1 barrel and of operational origin. At the time of update the values of the oil spill index per million tonnes of production, the IOGP has not published the results of the Aug 2023.

 

 

Incident Behavior 2024

 

Between 2019 and 2022, there have been 462 incidents with hydrocarbon spills caused by actions of third parties with potential effects on the environment, in the regions where we operate, as shown in the following graph.
